Privacy Policy
Last updated: 22 August 2026 · Version 1.0
1. Introduction
Bit Collective (“we”, “us”, or “our”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and disclose personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). By using our website, you agree to the terms of this policy.
2. Personal Information We Collect
- Contact Details: Name, email address, phone number and business name.
- Service Information: General information provided via our contact, quote and support forms so we can scope work or respond to a request.
- Recruitment Information: Where you apply for a role, the details and documents you send us.
- Technical Data: IP address, browser type and usage data, collected by Google Analytics.
3. How We Collect Data
- Direct Interaction: When you voluntarily complete a contact, quote or support form on our website, which is processed by Fillout, or email us directly.
- Automated Technologies: Cookies and similar technologies — specifically Google Analytics, described in section 5.
4. Why We Collect & Use Your Information
- Respond to your enquiry and provide quotes, support or services.
- Service Delivery: Where you are a client, to administer and support the systems we manage for you.
- Improvement: Understand how the site is used so we can make it more useful.
- Marketing: Where you have opted in, send occasional updates. You can opt out at any time using the unsubscribe link. In compliance with the Spam Act 2003 (Cth), our marketing emails carry a working unsubscribe link.
5. Analytics
This website loads Google Analytics 4 and the associated Google tag, which measure how visitors find and use the site. These set the _ga and _ga_E8ET692XSP cookies. We do not run advertising or remarketing tags — no Google Ads and no Meta Pixel is installed. Analytics is not currently gated behind a consent banner. You can opt out with the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on or by blocking cookies in your browser.
6. Disclosure to Third Parties
We do not sell, rent, or lease our customer lists to third parties. We may share data with:
- Service Providers: Fillout, which processes our forms and delivers submissions to us.
- Analytics Partners: Google, for website measurement.
- Vendors and Partners: Where delivering a service you have engaged us for requires it, and only to the extent required.
- Legal Obligations: Where required by Australian law.
7. International Data Transfers
As we use service providers such as Google, Fillout and our hosting provider, your personal information may be transferred to, and stored at, a destination outside Australia (including the United States). By providing us with your personal information, you consent to this disclosure. We take reasonable steps to ensure that any overseas recipient handles your personal information in accordance with the APPs.
8. Data Security
Our website uses industry-standard security measures, including SSL encryption and platform-level security controls, to protect data submitted via forms. While we strive to protect your personal information, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.
9. External Links
Our website may contain links to other websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of those websites.
10. Children’s Privacy
Our website is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 15. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under 15 without parental consent, we will take steps to delete it.
11. Changes to this Policy
